Well, i found my kombi using the classic car forum. So on the 18-Jan-09, around 1115 am, i decided Mr R to ask him about the Kombi. the van was still under procession of Mr. R. i think it was my luck because because the van was lying in Segambut for so long. He almost want to cut a big hole through the roof so that the kombi will be used by bridal house/wedding planner for brides parade or sommething.
He asked me to meet him at his home in Subang before heading to his workshop in Segambut to see the 'bes-be-gen" for the first time. yup bes-be-gen is the name for my kombi. dont ask me how i got the name. it was i pronounce volkwagen when i was liitle.
To cut story short, when i was shocked with the condition of my soon to be bes-be-gen. it was rusted all over, lights cover missing, how to say it. it was like a scrap car. Only pictures can describe the kombi.
Well to summarize everything. the condition is beyond usage the seats can be pulled using two fingers... i took awhile before i say yes. after bargaining to the lowest price i can go. including the basic restoration. i said yes... currently, i am an official vw kombi owner.
Now i'm in dilemma. what am i going to do with my kombi. what colour should i paint? the interior?well i discussed with Mr. R. he said the van will be ready by April. wow... 3 months. i guess i have to wait before i can drive my bes-be-gen. i am proud because i managed to own a kombi. i open for suggestion how to restore my kombi.
